“I joined the Vero HR team in 2017, following an 11-year career within the food/retail industry. My first role was on a client site, being the only HR team member. After a year, I changed roles and became an HR Manager working remotely in the Vero HR central team, across the UK, covering 12 different clients across different sectors. I started with two direct reports, which then evolved to a team of four. After successfully completing two years working in the central team, I was then promoted into a client site, full time position, covering over 3,500 employees. I now manage two direct employees, and between the three of us and the support of the Vero HR central team, we cover the HR Operations of a very well-known business.”

 

“I joined Vero HR 5 years ago as an HR Advisor working within a local charity. After being based with this client for 2 years, I was presented with the opportunity to work within the private education sector for a year and now I am a Senior HR Advisor for a client providing environmental services. Over the last 5 years I have had the opportunity to develop my HR skills and knowledge within different sectors (either stand-alone roles or with the support of a HR Assistant) and have also moved into a managerial position – all without changing my employer! It is easy to make the transition between clients, as we work to very similar policies, procedures and HR systems. Leaning on the wider HR team for support when needed provides a great benefit too, not only to us, but to our clients!”

“I started at Vero HR providing maternity cover and here I am seven years later! I joined as an HR Advisor on a fixed term contract, co located with a client and am now a Senior HR Advisor responsible for a team member too. Vero HR have two types of role, some working on client premises with the backup of a remote line manager and others working across multiple sectors/clients travelling around the UK. What suits me best is the type of role based with a client but even then, I have worked across a variety of sectors, from not for profit to manufacturing. Each time, I have taken on broader and more varied roles, but what makes it different from a normal HR career is that I haven’t had to change my employer once, giving me the security of employment too. I’ve also been able to work on special projects, including an HR system implementation.”

“I started my Level 3 Apprenticeship in Human Resources with Vero HR in October 2019. I had recently finished school and had no previous HR experience at the time but the owners of Vero HR who interviewed me saw potential in me and gave me a chance. I wasn’t recruited on a short-term apprenticeship contract or on minimum apprenticeship pay. I came into a real full-time job with the support that the apprenticeship programme offered. I started in the central team under the guidance of an experienced team member before being placed into my first role on a client site. Since then, I have become a qualified HR Assistant and am working within a Vero HR client that has over 350 employees. I am in no doubt that this progression is due to the supporting and knowledgeable Vero HR team, and I am really looking forward to further career progression with the company.”
